Whiskey Tracker ("we", "us", or "our") operates the WhiskeyTracker web application (the "Service"). This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
Information We Collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive the following information from Google:
- Your name and email address (used to create and identify your account)
- Your Google profile picture URL (displayed as your avatar)
We also store information you voluntarily provide, including whiskey entries, tasting notes, ratings, bottle inventory, and any images you upload or select from Google Photos.
How We Use Google User Data
Data received from Google is used solely to authenticate your identity and personalize your experience within the Service. We do not sell, rent, or share your Google account information with any third party.
When you use the Google Photos picker feature, you select specific photos to use as bottle images. We access only the photos you explicitly choose, and we do not store access to your Google Photos library. The selected image is saved locally to the Service.
Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy , including the Limited Use requirements.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in a private PostgreSQL database hosted on a self-managed server. We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and key-based data protection.
Cookies and Sessions
The Service uses cookies to maintain your login session. No advertising or tracking cookies are used. No third-party analytics services are employed.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or share your personal data with any third parties. The only external service we communicate with on your behalf is Google (for authentication and, optionally, photo selection).
Your Rights and Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email address below. Upon request, we will remove your personal information, tasting notes, and any uploaded images from our systems.
